It was featured on our menu, and one of the local chefs generously shared his expertise with us. They prepared it just right, using only a few essential ingredients and crowning it with a delicate dollop of fresh fish roe on top.

Ingredients

  • 300 grams Shrimps
    1 Whole avocado

  • 60 grams Greek yoghurt

  • 5 grams of Fresh dill

  • 1 Whole Lime
    1 Fresh chilli pepper (optional)

Directions

  • In a bowl mix defrosted and drained shrimps with Greek yoghurt.
  • Add fresh chopped dill, salt and black pepper.
  • Toast sourdough toast from the both sides.
  • Slice the avocado and spread half on the one-half of the toast.
  • On the other half of the toast add the shrimp mixture.
  • FGarnisgh with the fresh lime and fresh red chillies.

By skipping the fish roe, adding Greek yoghurt to cut down on fats and boost protein, and using my home-baked sourdough bread, you can enjoy a lighter, yet still flavorful twist on this classic dish.

Prepare the Shrimp Mixture

Defrost frozen or cook fresh shrimp. Mix with Greek yoghurt, and chopped dill. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Set aside.

Lightly butter slices of bread and toast until golden brown and crispy.

Spread the shrimp mixture generously over the toasted bread. Garnish with extra dill and a wedge of lemon, if desired.
